Call for papers for the 2015 IGU Moscow Conference

The IGU Transport and Geography Commission are organising three thematic sessions of research papers for the 2015 IGU Moscow Conference

  1. Andrew Goetz (University of Denver, USA) and Becky Loo (University of Hong Kong) are co-convening a session on the theme of Geographical Impacts of Transport and Regional Development, including the study of economic, social, and environmental effects of transport infrastructure investment.
  2. Yves Boquet (University of Bourgogne, France), Anastasia Lomakina (Institute of Geography, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia), and Vladimir Shuvalov are co-convening a session on the theme of Transport Development in Regions of High Latitudes or High Altitude.
  3. Yves Boquet (University of Bourgogne, France), Anastasia Lomakina (Institute of Geography, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia), and Vladimir Shuvalov are co-convening a session on the theme of Russian Transport Issues: Cities, Regions and Neighboring Countries.

Extended deadline workshop Cluster 1

The deadline for abstracts for the Cluster 1 workshop “Enhancing the network efficiency: air transport and sustainability” to be held during the days 7-8 of May 2015 in Cranfield, United Kingdom, has been extended until the 15/1/2015.

Call for sessions and papers for the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference

The call for sessions and papers for the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference is now open and we would like to invite suggestions for sessions sponsored by the Transport Geography Research Group. The conference will take place at the University of Exeter from the 2nd-4th September and will be chaired by Professor Sarah Whatmore (University of Oxford). The conference theme is Geographies of the Anthropocene

If you would like to have your session sponsored by TGRG, please submit your session proposal to angela.curl@glasgow.ac.uk by Monday 5th January. We will confirm sponsorship the same week and you will then have until Friday 20th February to send out your Call for Papers, choose your presenters and submit your full session proposal to RGS.
