2022 NECTAR Conference

The 16th International NECTAR Conference will take place in Toronto, Canada, 20 – 22 July 2022. The theme of the conference is “Mobilizing Justice: Moving Toward Action for an Equitable Transportation Future”.  The NECTAR conference will be organized by the University of Toronto and hosted on its downtown St. George campus. Besides the general call for papers that can be found here, there are also topic-specific calls for papers by the 8 NECTAR clusters:

  • Cluster 1: “Participatory foresight and discourse analysis as approaches to understanding subjectivity and uncertain futures” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 2: “Equity in Transport Policy” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 3: “Delivering Equity: Intersections between Urban Delivery, Transportation and Environmental Justice” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 4: “Low emission zones: potential effects on vulnerable households, housing prices and labor markets” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 5: “Tourism in Livable, Healthy and Equitable Cities” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 6: “Accessibility as an (in)equality indicator” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 7: “Digitalization and transport equity” (call for papers)
  • Cluster 8: “Digitalization – a gift or curse for policy making” (call for papers)

To recognize the high quality of the research conducted by the best of the PhD students supervised by NECTAR members, NECTAR awards a PhD award at its international Conference. The 4th NECTAR PhD award will consider PhD theses written in English which have been or will be defended between July 2019 and June 2022. We will also consider submissions consisting of sets of journal papers which are to be included in a future thesis, and which are representative for its quality. PhD thesis work can be submitted only by a supervisor who should be a NECTAR member. More information on the award and eligibility criteria can be found here.
